Erbil Citadel

Erbil Citadel stands on an archaeological tell formed by successive layers of occupation. Its perimeter façades, narrow lanes and Ottoman-era urban fabric define its heritage value. The official travel advice consulted recommends postponing tourist travel there because conditions remain serious and changeable.
