Mtkvari River

The Mtkvari frames the upper valley where Vardzia and Khertvisi reveal an inhabited medieval frontier. The landscape combines river, fortress, terraces and stepped settlements, while Vardzia needs time for its chambers, tunnels, church and uneven levels.
